ROME

Well we made it to beautiful and warm Rome. It was super hot when we got there and a gelato was enjoyed thoroughly. We met Devon who we found in Dublin at the hostel.

This day was filled with rich culture and €2.50 bottles of vino. We purchased the Roma pass and got free metro. This ofcourse was taken advantage off because walking everywhere gets super tiring. First we went to the Vatican City. Where we only stood in a line up for 45 minutes. We came in and there was so many people it was hard to enjoy the beautiful sights. There were paintings on the walls that looked as if they were wood scuptures. The details were phenomenal. We passed through many hallways with beautiful ceilings and painted walls. With sculptures all around us. We did go into the chapel there which was gorgeous and we unfortunately werent allowed to take any pictures. In this chapel that I forgot the name off the famous touching of the finger tips with the sun rays in the background was painted on the walls. Which was amazing and unforgettable. Somehow this was still not my favorite. The Basilica was. The church was amazing. Just look at the pictures. No words can give this justice. Just imagine an Organ playing in the background.

After this we went to the Colloseum and watched the sun set in the beautiful clear skies. I had imagined it bigger, and with an intact floor. Overall it was still great and surreal that there was people in this massive building watching slaughter matches.

We wandered around and had a great time. When we got back to the hostel we had met some of the people. Played drinking games with lots of Vino. We all got invited for a great party at a club with the hostel. Ofcourse we went we cant pass that up! There was actually a lot of canadians there. After learning a couple of drinking games and polishing off about 6 bottles of wine we decided to go to the bar. We got free shots and everything. It was a super great night that I won't forget.

Xx
