Avignon

Sitting on the train and blogging has become a habit now. If only there was wifi on them, we could plan and book hostels instead of sitting here listening to gangster boys listening to french rap. Which is aweful.

We are now leaving Avignon. A town not really made for backpackers. There was no cheap food, everything closed early. Its a town made for the posh. Expensive brand name stores everywhere and boutiques. Everyone here in France looks very perfect. Makeup done right, shiny shoes, boobs in the right place, hair perfect all day, boyfriend on one arm and a baguette in the other. Fitting in here as a backpackers is quite hard.

The town is surrounded by beautiful castle walls. And really has a great historic atmosphere to it. Cobble stone roads where cars just about fit through. Our day was really quite boring. We walked around did some browsing in little stores and ate food. We found an old book shop with a tea room in it at the tourism office. When we finally got there it was ofcourse closed. This is typically french according to the girl in our room. The French slack a lot and their businesses are closed for 3 hours at lunch and might not even open back up after. So we just spend our day wandering around enjoying the sights.

Sarah, the girl in our room decided to bike from Ireland to Italië. Shes truly opened up my eyes as to her reasoning of taking on europe. She is from New Zealand and went to school right after to be a Physiotherapist. After 4 years in school she hated it and found a job. After saving enough money she quit and decided to take on Europe with her bike. This was to find out what she really wants to do.

I can really relate to this and am glad i did not waste any money and time because i was rushing into going to school. I really hope that will open up others eyes too.

We are now on our way to party central Barcelona and just can't wait to get there.

Xx from Spain
