Jameson distillery

First night in a hostel:
Creepy old people
Concrete mattresses
Barely existing pillows
Snoring spanish ladies
Deposits on everything
Mold in showers
Shall I go on?

I know I shouldn't complain.  I mean its a hostel and we didnt pay much but the cleaning lady can spend a little more time in the bathrooms instead of cleaning the pictures on the walls. Overall I can't diss this hostel to much. The people are very nice and helpful. The experience has been that luxury doesnt come cheap. And its really not needed to life. This is perfectly livable, its just a different life style that I am used to. I can do this even though weve gotten lost again.

It was the plan to make it to Jameson s distillery today. And we did after following the train tracks the wrong way. Just look for a cobble stone road the tourist info said. Easier said then done for the bresland and the de jong. But we found it! And that's what counts.  Have learned lots about distilling and how its done. The place way a distillery at first but not the original jameson distillery,  this was also severely scaled down. Not much of it was original. But it was about the thought and the learning aspect. Jameson is unique cause they distill three times instead of once or twice. This provides no burn when you will drink it. Also J. Jameson is a man who treats his workers and animals right. Animals? Yep there were two cats who would catcb 50 mice a day and protect the barley. These were then stuffed and put in his museum. The workers would have to clean the massive mash tanks which wasnt a fun job at all. So he made it a rule that if you were late to work youd have to do it. Every visitor who came to the distillery years ago would get a shot of the 15 year old whiskey. This carried on lucky for mikah and I. We got a drink! It was Ginger ale whiskey and lime and absolutely delicious. Sorry for the whole preach on whiskey but it was super interesting!

We then went back to the hostel and ate kebabs. And played cards in the church, thats as exiting as that gets. While walking to the kebab place we had to bring our handy dandy pocket swiss army knife cause the hostel is at quite a sketch road for two girls to walk down on in the dark. This is whats been preventing us from going to the bars.
